Why Barrel-Age Honey?
Barrel-Aging gives our honey a deeper, richer flavor than regular raw honey. Subtle notes of vanilla, oak and whiskey are present, but not overpowering.
Customers who don’t like the overly sweet taste of honey tell us they like Lucille’s Gourmet Barrel-Aged Honey because of its deeper flavor.
Barrel-Aging allows us to hand craft our honey in small batches. We can only put 45 gallons of honey into each barrel, which yields around 70 cases - something to savor and enjoy.
